to come into contact in normal building and insdustrial applications.
Biological
Lapinus
Insdustrial Slabs offer no sustenance to vermin and do not encourage
the growth of fungi, moulds or bacteria
Enviroment
No
CFCs or HCFCs are used in the manufacture of Lapnius materials.
Lapinus materials are free of asbestos.
Handing and
storage
Lapinus
Industrial Slabs are light and easy to cut to any shape with a sharp
knife, For long-term protection they should be stored indoors or
under a waterproof covering.

Fire
Lapinus
Industrial Slabs are rated non-combustible in accordance with ASTM
E 136, BS 476 P4, ISO 1182 and IMO A 799 (19)
Maximum service
temperature
Lapinus
flexible, semi-rigid and rigid slabs can be used to insulate hot
surfaces up to 650°, in accordance with ASTM C 411, depending
upon insulation thickness, mecahnicak load, vibration levels and
type of slab.
Also
of particular importance is the classifiaction temperature according
to German Industrial Standard AGI Q 132. The classification temperature
is determinated by testing the change in thickness in relation to
temperature and time, according to DIN 52271 section 6b. The classification
temeprature is the temperature at which the decrease in thickness
of the insulation is less than 2% when tested for 24 hrs under a
load of 1 kN/m2.

At
temperatures above 250 °C, there will be a partial loss of binder

of the insulation properties
Water resistance
The
water vapour absorption (vapor sorption) in accordance with ASTM
C 1104/C 1104 M is +- 0.02% (vol).
Lapinus
Insdustrial Slabs are highly water repellent, nonhygrscopic and
non-capillary.
The
water repellency in accordance with BS 2972 (total immersion) is
>= 96% (vol). The industrial slabs are also water repellent in
accordance with the German Industrial Standard AGI Q 136.
Vapour resistivity
The
water vapour difusion resistance factor of industrial slabs is negligible
and nearly the same as that of air. µ= +- 1.3
Chemical
Lapinus
Insdutrial Slabs are chemically inert. An aqueous extract of the
slabs is neutral or slightly alkaline. Industrial slabs meet the
requirements for use over stainless steel in accordance with ASTM
C 795.
Acoustics-sound
absorption
Lapinus
Industrial Slabs are highly efficient sound absorbting insulation
products, due to the open fibre structure. the Tables below give
the sound absorption values of Lapinus Industrial Slabs according
to ISO 354.

Acoustics-sound
reduction
For
enviromental reasons, it is sometimes desirable to improve the acoustic
insulation of machines and ducts.
Lapinus
Slabs can be used in industrial aplpications such as acoustic splitters,
acoustic damping of ducts or in steel panels for enclosing noisy
machines.
To
improve the noise reductiosn at low frequencies of dcut, it is necessary
to use a heavy cladding.
Compression

Tested
in accordance with DIN 52272. Compression values are only valid
up to a maximum hot-face temperature of approx 200°C
